Acer's revealed that it'll be bringing Android's latest and greatest version to its existing tablet family. The update is rolling out (as promised) on the Iconia Tab A200 now, but version 4.0 will also make an appearance on both its seven inch (Iconia A100) and 10 inch (Iconia A500) relatives in April. The update adds all those ICS features, including refreshed widget design and improved multitasking, but leaves the manufacturer's own Android addition -- the Acer launcher ring -- intact.
Acer Iconia Tab family to be given Ice Cream Sandwich treatment, rolling out to A200 now originally appeared on Engadget on Fri, 17 Feb 2012 07:22:00 EDT. Please see our terms for use of feeds.

Alienware's latest PC is an attempt to fire a salvo right across the bows of Sony and Microsoft's gaming flagships. It looks like the (slightly overweight) lovechild of the pair; like an alternate universe console. The X51 borrows liberally from the design schools of both the Xbox (matte sides) and the PlayStation 3 (slot-loading optical drive, front panel gloss). The Alienware logo rotates to suit both vertical and horizontal setups. The device is around the size of the original PS3, but it looked pretty petite in comparison to There's a litany of holes on the back of the X51, including plenty of USB ports and audio options. Reacquaint yourself with some technical specifics after the break, alongside our hands-on impressions with Super Street Fighter IV.
Something you may have noted in the gallery; those light-up features on the device can be reassigned to different colors -- thus the two blue and green hues we saw at the launch event. Both a compatible mouse and keyboard can also be tied into these colored light shows. The device is still pretty weighty, presumably due to the fact that this desktop has a largely modular structure, with extra adjustments possible on whichever build you decide to invest in. The PC is available now in both the UK and the US -- this was Alienware's London launch, so there may be some minor differences to the hardware on either side of the Atlantic.
The rub? Gameplay was smooth, with the same vibrant graphics you'd expect for a PC kitted out to last beyond the current crop of Sony and Microsoft hardware. Our efforts were more hampered by the Razer Onza controllers, on which which we struggled to unleash our hadoukens. We also had a brief stint on Portal, which, although no graphics powerhouse, also ran untroubled. The Core i3 X51 will set you back $699, with a GeForce GT545 graphics card. Anyone willing to pony up more cash for the Core i5 and i7 models, you can expect to pay somewhere between $700 and $1000, with a grand netting the top-drawer model. The chance for a strong debut entry into PC gaming, minus the toying-with-internals rigmarole, could tempt some previously console-only gamers to get their wallets out.

February 06, 2012, 9:08 AM ? Microsoft is gearing up to release a phalanx of native mobile applications for its CRM software, with clients aimed at BlackBerry, Windows Phone 7, iOS, and Android 2.2 and higher devices, the company announced Monday.
The release, which is scheduled for the second quarter as part of Microsoft's regular CRM (customer relationship management) service update, will also build on existing browser support with Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox and Safari, running on Macs, iPads and Windows PCs.
In the future the native mobile applications will be updated at the same time, but features and functions may vary depending on the relative capabilities available on each platform, said Craig Dewar, director, Dynamics CRM.
"We're doing as much as we can on each platform, and not choosing to do the lowest common denominator approach," he said. "We're optimizing for the device. You chose that device, and we should light it up as much as possible."
The new CRM mobile capabilities also include a hosted-server component that provides management and security, including the ability to remotely wipe devices of sensitive data should they become compromised. IT administrators will also be able to "mobilize" all of their CRM customizations without having to re-code them, Dewar said.
Each native application will allow for offline usage and data synchronization with online systems, according to a statement.
Microsoft is charging US$30 per user per month for the mobile service, with each subscription allowed up to three devices. It is a purely user-based pricing model, with no separate fee for the hosted-server tools.
Meanwhile, Microsoft's close CRM competitor Salesforce.com offers a Lite mobile application at no charge, with the full-featured version available at no additional cost for Unlimited Edition subscribers but $50 per user per month for Professional and Enterprise edition customers.
While other CRM vendors, including Salesforce.com, have moved quickly to embrace HTML5 for mobile in hopes of writing a single rich application that will run on multiple platforms, Microsoft is taking a more deliberate pace.
"We're watching HTML5 very closely, we're working on it," Dewar said. "It's a very important development technology. But our focus is to provide the best possible experience on native devices today." Microsoft will likely do more with HTML5 upon the arrival of Windows 8, which will provide ample support for it, he added.
Another feature planned for the upcoming service update, which will apply to both the on-premises and online versions of the software, is Activity Feeds, which provides users with a familiar Twitter and Facebook-like stream of updates on information in the CRM system.
Microsoft is also planning to add new BI (business intelligence) capabilities to the on-premises version, which are based on the Power View visualization technology in SQL Server 2012. Those capabilities will become available in the online version over time, Dewar said.

[Abstract]
Purpose:The aim of this article is to analysis the efficacy and complications of Itensitymodulated radiation Therapy(IMRT) of cervical cancer, evaluate the feasibility ofIMRT as a conventional means. The target volume and critical organs of IMRT areanalysised, compared with 3-Dimensional conformal radiation therapy (3DCRT) bythe parameters as such dose volume histogram(DVH).Materials and Methods:Between July 2005 and December 2006, twenty eight women with cervical cancerundergoing IMRT were selected for this study. All of them, fifteen women acceptedIntensity modulated whole pelvic radiotherapy(IM-WPRT),ten women with Intensitymodulated small pelvic radiotherapy(IM-SPRT),three women with Extended fieldIntensity modulated radiotherapy(EF-IMRT,including whole pelvic and paraaorticlymph node). A planning CT scan of each patient was obtained followingadministration of oral and i.v.. The gross target volume is primary disease and the areainvolved.A clinical target volume (CTV) was contoured consisting of the uppervagina, parametria, uterus (if present), and presacral and pelvic lymph noderegions(common, internal and external iliac nodes). Stage Ib1 disease treated withpostoperative radiotherapy without pathologic risk factors(including positive nodes, parametrial extension, and positive or close surgical margin, capillary lymphatic spaceinvolvement) covers primarily the pericervical regions, wthout presacral region. Thepara-aortic lymph node (PALN) intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) wastaken in patients with paraaortic lymph node metastases. The clinical target volumewas expanded by 1 cm to create a planning target volume (PTV) in all directions butA/P dirctions. The samll bowel, rectum, bladder, pelvic bone marrow, femurheads, kidneys and spinal cord were delineated as risk organs for each patients. 5-7-or9-field, 6-MV-xray, coplanar IMRT plans were generated for all patients.Doseconstrain isV40?40?for rectum, V40?40?for bladder, V30?40?for samll bowel,V20?50?for marrow of pelvis, V40?5?for femur head,V25?33?for kidney, D 1cc?40Gy for spinal cord. All patients received intracavitary branchtherapy after or inIMRT. Concurrent radio-chemotherapy was taken in Twenty two patints. The acutegastrointestinal and genitourinary and hematologic toxicity during treatment wasscored according to RTOG. Conformal plans were created: a four-field box, 15MV-xray,for comparison with IMRT, protecting normal tissue using MLC.Isodose distributionsand dose-volume histogram(DVH) were compared. Both plans were normalized todeliver 45?50.4Gy/1.8Gy/f to PTV.Results:During treatment, IMRT was well tolerated, The acute gastrointestinal andgenitourinary and hematologic toxicity during treatment were Grade 1(50??46.4??25?),Grade 2(25??7.1??50?), Grade 3 or more (0?3.6??10.7?). Follow-up4-20months,mean 13.3months,median 14months.All of them, three patient developeddistant metastases(2 chest,1 ovaries), seven percent of the patients suffered Grade 1late gastrointestinal complications, no late genitourinary complications andlymphedema of the leg. The one-year overall survival is 100?.IMRT plans provided excellent PTV coverage, approximate 100?of CTV and5.76?of the PTV on average received the prescription dose. The averagepercentage of the PTV receiving 110?and 115?of the prescription dose was 7.26?and 0.13?, respectively. At high dose level,it is no significant difference that thevolume of the risk organ was radiated compared IM-WPRT with IM-SPRT;at lowdose(?30Gy),the volume of the risk organ radiated in IM-WPRT was more.Compraed with 3DCRT, two plans both resulted in excellent CTV/PTVcoverage.the dose that 1?of PTV of pelvic IMRT was received was more. at10-30Gy dose level, the radiated risk organs volume in IMRT plan were less, 1?ofsmall bowel and pelvic bone marrow in IMRT plan were lower. At 45Gy doselevel,The radiated volume of samll bowel, rectum, bladder, pelvic bone marrow werereduced by 11??45-47??33?42??8-16?. The para-aortic lymph node (PALN)intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) protected kidney and spinal cord. Conclusion:IMRT of cervical cancer is more excellent than 3DCRT, at dosimetries, complications associated with treatment and curative effect.Duringtreatment,IMRT was well tolerated. But some problems are needed to resolve in thefuture.

Given this type of background, despite all of your very positive traits, shopping for an auto loan can be a real challenge. You see, that "bad credit score" part really does make a big difference to the vast majority of creditors out there. When they see a FICO score below 600, they will consider it to be a sign of someone who is not responsible with their money.
And sure, the credit scoring system does have some merit: you don't get a bad score for nothing. But, when it comes to buying a car, your car itself acts as a form of collateral for the loan. And, the title is actually held by the would-be lender until you pay it off. So, what's the big risk for them, right?
Fortunately, there are a handful of creditors out there who would fully agree with you. They actually base their business on helping credit-challenged people to get their auto loans funded. Wouldn't it be nice to be able to find these creditors so that you could get funded?
If you are looking for creditors that help with bad credit auto loans, here are 5 steps to getting funded with a new loan:
1. Get to know what bad credit auto lenders look for in a borrower:
While bad credit auto lenders do not look past your credit score completely, they are different from traditional lenders in that they take it your score account only as one of many potentially-important factors in your overall picture of credit-worthiness. They also look at other aspects of your financial and personal history, such as your employment history, your history with other car loans, and the reasons why your credit score is not stellar.
2. Fix any errors that show up on your credit report:
Next, run your credit reports (from all 3 agencies) and figure out which items that show up there are actually misreported items or errors. Then, protest in writing each error you find. The errors will be removed in a timely manner, provided you did a thorough job of showing that they were errors.
3. Find a local bad credit lender and buddy up to them:
If you know of any, introduce yourself to a local bad credit lender in your area. Show them your credit report and ask them which items, if any, would be red flags to another lender. Then, find a way to truthfully explain each one, but painting yourself in the best-possible light. This is great rehearsal for when you start applying for auto loans (see below).
4. Prepare your documents:
Prepare any documentation you can get your hands on concerning your own employment history, residential history, personal references and other personal details. You may need to use these items in a pinch.
5. Apply to as many lenders as you can:
Now, it is time to apply. Find an online resource that gives you access to multiple bad credit lenders. Then, apply to as many as you can. Hint: apply to all of them within a short time period, such a few days. This will help you avoid any negative effects that the multiple credit reports that are run will have on your score.
To find creditors that help with bad credit for auto loans, follow these 5 steps to getting funded.

The U.S. may have its first black president and the Fortune 500 its first black female chief executive, but African American CEOs account for a mere one percent of the chiefs of those 500 largest companies.
Andrew Carton, assistant professor of management and organization at Penn State Smeal College of Business, and Ashleigh Shelby Rosette of Duke University, suggest in the current issue of the Academy of Management Journal that what steers people's perceptions of African Americans are stereotypes about blacks' leadership failings, biases that may not even be conscious.
The researchers found evidence of this phenomenon in a source seemingly remote from the corporate world -- newspaper stories about college football quarterbacks.
Buried in those press reports is a consistent pattern of associating losses with failed leadership when quarterbacks are black but not when they are white, and associating victories with quarterbacks' native athletic ability when they are black but not when they are white.
"Evaluators adjust the way they use stereotypes according to performance outcomes," the researchers report. "Specifically, negative leader-based stereotypes will be applied after [a black quarterback's] performance failure and non-leader compensatory stereotypes (i.e., black leaders succeed because of marginal qualities that 'compensate' for negative qualities) will be applied after performance success."
This stereotyping, Carton and Rosette observe, "may provide an important missing link in our understanding of bias against black leaders and may serve as an important contributor to barriers that impede the advancement of black leaders in organizations."
The study owed its genesis in part to Carton's own experience as a member of his college's varsity football team.
"I became aware of certain racial biases, and when I later enrolled as a graduate student at Duke, I mentioned my experience to Professor Rosette, whose research included bias in the workplace. Quarterbacks are a good focus for any research on leadership, because they have an executive role on the field that is unique in sports.
The researchers analyzed newspaper reports over the course of a season for 119 teams in the Football Championship Subdivision, the highest level of competition in college football. They randomly sampled one story a week from the leading newspaper of each school's locale, and coders unaware of the nature of the study were assigned to extract words or phrases that evaluated the quarterback and his performance -- for example, where reporters cited a quarterback for "intelligence" or for being "fleet-footed." Evaluative text was identified for 113 quarterbacks, 82 white and 31 black.
Analysis focused particularly on text that conveyed competence or incompetence and athleticism or its lack, the former two intimately related to leadership. Of special interest was how writers accounted for teams' success in view of this presumption of black incompetence and whether they accounted for success or failure differently depending on quarterbacks' race.
"Black quarterbacks were perceived to be significantly more incompetent than whites when their respective teams lost, but this difference was not found when their respective teams won," the researchers said.
For example, black quarterbacks of defeated teams were more likely than defeated white quarterbacks to be tasked by reporters for making bad decisions under pressure.
To help rule out explanations other than bias for the difference in reporters' perceptions of incompetence, the researchers looked for intellectual or scholastic factors. Neither the academic ratings of the colleges quarterbacks attended nor their grade point averages from high school were significantly associated with these perceptions.
Carton and Rosette say that one way to combat corporate CEO biases is for companies to institute "perception-based reform." This might involve fostering one-on-one or small-group interactions that can serve to enhance people's awareness of each other as individuals and not stereotypes.
The researchers also suggest that black leaders themselves can make their colleagues and subordinates more aware of their qualifications and experience, and of biases caused by stereotyping.

Inman News?
Q: I am on a mission to buy a home. I?ve wanted to own a home my entire life, and thought I would miss the opportunity to buy while the market was down, because I had no real savings when the market crashed. I think I?m ready, though, and prices still seem low. What should I be doing now to make this happen in 2012?
A: Let me count the ways ? I mean, the things ? you can and should be doing now if you want to buy this year. The recession has done lots of favors for buyers-to-be, including dropping prices and interest rates to bargain levels. But it has also created a lending and housing market climate in which loans are tough to get, tensions about buying into a down market run high, and transactions are harder and longer to close than they have ever been.
If I were talking to a friend who wanted to throw a New Year?s 2013 party in her new home, here are the things I?d tell her to do, stat:
1. Fix credit problems. More deals than ever are dying on the vine, and credit problems are a top reason home-sale transactions fall out of escrow. Detect and correct errors on your credit report now by reviewing the federally mandated free reports you can get at AnnualCreditReport.com.
2. Study up. Do some research, both online and offline, into things like:
Areas: Start your online research into decision points like tax rates, school districts, neighborhood character and even prices in various areas. Check out NabeWise.com for some local insight into neighborhood flavor and personality.
When you start connecting with local agents, ask them to brief you on neighborhood market dynamics. They can give you a deeper view into need-to-knows like how long homes typically stay on the market and whether they generally go for more or less than the asking price, so you can be smart about how you search vis-?-vis what you have to spend.
Agents: This is the perfect time to ask your family and friends for a referral to an agent they know, have used and love. Then, follow up by doing an online search for the agent?s name and seeing what sort of online reviews and activities you find. When you?ve narrowed the field down to a few, call them up and set up a meeting to find out if you?re a good fit.
Distressed properties: In some areas, more than 40 percent of the homes on the market are short sales and foreclosures, and they involve a very different timeline and set of facts than traditional home sales. Read up and talk with the agent candidates you interview about what you should expect from these types of listings, to minimize surprise and manage your expectations way in advance.
3. Save even more. Sounds like you?ve worked hard for a number of years to save enough cash that you think you?re in the clear when it comes to funding your down payment and closing costs. Studies show that after months of saving, people often let up and relax into a spending season. Even at your early stage in the process, it?s easy to start noticing and buying the furnishings and touches you want to install in your new home.
While I don?t want you to feel deprived or forgo amazing and affordable deals on things you know you?re going to need, I assure you that no matter what amount of cash you have on hand, when you start house hunting, making offers, closing your transaction or moving in, the time will definitely come when you?ll wish you had more.
You might want to ratchet up your offer a bit to best another buyer, or you might just end up with a place that needs a little sprucing up. It might be months before you know exactly what you?ll need extra cash for, but now is not the time to press the gas pedal when it comes to your monthly spending.
4. Purge. Now?s the time to sell, donate or give away as much of your junk or, excuse me, precious personal possessions as you can. Use the proceeds to pad your cash cushion, or tuck the donation receipts away for your tax records next year.
Start here, and chances are good that your house hunt ? and purchase ? will be in full swing by spring, if not sooner.

INDIANAPOLIS ? Chad Ochocinco was recounting how much he had changed during his one season in New England, when a section of fans in the stands started to cheer.
Startled, he turned his head away from the microphone and tried to see what was causing the commotion at Super Bowl media day, which had a new look this year. For the first time, fans were allowed to sit in the stands and watch the goofiness unfold on the field.
What he heard was some of the 7,300 fans at Lucas Oil Stadium cheering Tuesday when a player complimented their city and their restaurants.
"It's kind of crazy," Patriots linebacker Tracy White said. "It's a new thing with the fans being able to buy tickets and come watch us do interviews. It's pretty cool."
For $25 apiece, they got headsets that allowed them to hear how coaches and players at some of the 14 podiums on the field responded to media questions and everything else thrown their way.
They quickly became part of the ambiance.
While videographers were setting up tripods at the most popular podiums ? the one for quarterback Tom Brady drew the most attention ? fans settled into their seats, most of them wearing Colts jerseys. One fan dressed like Brady ? blue Patriots jersey, pants, shoulder pads, hand towel and pretend play list on his left forearm ? ventured to the front row and quickly got his desired several minutes of interview attention.
Shortly before the Patriots started walking onto the field, a public address announcer told the crowd: "Let's respect all the media, all the players." The crowd applauded, then started figuring out how to tune in the headsets to listen to the interviews.
"It's such an intimate experience," said Nick Lowery, a Patriots fan who drove from Columbia, Mo. "This is really cool."
Until Tuesday, the NFL had restricted interviews at the Super Bowl stadium to accredited members of the news and entertainment media. By opening it up to fans, the two hour-long interview sessions felt more like the practice sessions before NCAA basketball tournament games, which are open to the public.
Fans weren't allowed to get autographs or take photos with players, but a couple of them managed to sneak one in. A fan got Giants safety Kenny Phillips to autograph a football and toss it back.
Mostly, they watched a typical media day ? lots of questions, a little bit of strangeness.
A man dressed as a caped character from a cable network wandered about with a crew taping his off-beat interactions with Giants and Patriots. A Spanish language network sent a crew with a dance instructor and a disco ball on a stick, luring players into showing their moves to salsa music. Ochocinco's social media network ? the Ochocinco News Network ? prowled the sideline for interviews.
Nobody enjoyed the day more than Ochocinco, who reached the playoffs only twice during 10 seasons with Cincinnati and wound up 0-2. When he was traded to the Patriots in July, he knew he would have to keep most of his comments to himself to co-exist with coach Bill Belichick, who doesn't tolerate diva distractions.
Ochocinco kept quiet and accepted a reserve role on the team. He was the last Patriot to wade into the media throng on Tuesday, smiling at one of the best moments of his career.
"Aw, man, I've dreamed of it," Ochocinco said. "I've been playing this game a long time ? started out at 4 years old. And this is what you dream of, to come to this stage and enjoy it. So that's what I'm going to do."
Asked if it was bittersweet because he wasn't a starter and didn't get to sit at one of the podiums, Ochocinco smiled again.
"It's not bittersweet," he said. "It's the Super Bowl."
